SUMMARY:
Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for a manufacturing client in the Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, area. This individual will manage the total cost and performance of selected categories/contracts of key indirect goods/services through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and supplier development.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Oversee Indirect Professional Services for: People Services / Benefits, Staff Augmentation, Financial Services, Legal Services, Risk Management Consultancy, and Business Process Outsourcing. Other categories may include Marketing Services and Research & Development
·       Manages the entire formal strategic sourcing process from spend analysis through contract implementation and supplier relationship management
·       Cultivates and implements global category strategies, resolves conflicts, and manages risk while delivering the best optimized value proposition
·       Lead and negotiate agreements that are complex in nature, potentially high risk to the company, and/or non-repetitive in nature; with minimal or no supervision
·       Conduct strategic sourcing for items or commodities that are complex in nature and potentially high risk to the company
·       Develop specifications/requirements, conduct market analysis, cost analysis, RFx, implement solutions and manage supplier performance
·       Draft highly complex contracts with high risk to the company
·       Ability to create current and target conditions (A3) for the overall value chain on key products or services
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Bachelor's Degree in Business, Materials Management, Finance, Engineering or Operations Management. Master's Degree preferred. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred
·         6 years in a professional procurement role with exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and commodities
·         Demonstrates ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external business partners, as well as business unit and function leadership
·         Well-developed understanding of prepared financial statements; ability to interpret and assign meaning to income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets
·         Demonstrated ability to break down the five cost elements in highly complex situations, accurately determine company financial stability and translate and use the information effectively during supplier negotiations
